Bahrain
This Week Newspaper - The giant skeleton that has been mounted on top of the archway in front
of the Bahrain Science Centre is not a dinosaur, as many children (and
even their parents think) but a whale. Why do people always regard past
life as more interesting than the fascinating animals with which we
currently share our planet? The skeleton is that of a Bryde's
whale that washed up on the shore of the King Fahad Causeway between Um
an Ha'san island and the main island about 20 years ago. Bryde's whales
reach a length of about 15 m and occur in warm seas throughout the
world.
